Chromium Carbide Wear Plate

Abrasion resistant (AR) steel plate is a high-carbon alloy steel that is harder, tougher, and more resistant to wear and tear than regular high-strength structural steel plate. It is often used in applications where abrasions and wear and tear are the main causes of failure, such as: Industrial manufacturing, Mining, Construction, and Material handling. AR steel plate is usually created using thermal processes, which increases the hardness of the steel and creates a unique grain structure. It is graded using a method known as the Brunel hardness test, and each grade is designated AR for its abrasion resistance and a numerical value for its Brunel Hardness. For example, AR400, AR450, and AR500 are different hardness levels of AR steel.
